Throwback Thursday: 18 Weeks

I seriously can’t believe Owen is almost seven months old. Where has the time gone? Before I know it, I’ll be planning his first birthday party!

This photo was taken just over a year ago, when I was about 18 weeks pregnant. I look at this photo, and I just can’t believe I was ever that tiny. And I can’t believe Owen was that tiny!! Now, he’s 19 lbs. and my arms hurt when I carry him for too long!

I miss pregnancy. I felt so gorgeous! And growing a life is just the coolest experience! I really can’t wait to experience it all over again.

Throwback: Rockin’ Denim Before Britney & Katy

This week’s throwback is dedicated to denim. Sweet, sweet denim. One of the best fabrics around, and so darn versatile! It really hit its high mark in the 90s.

This photo is of me, at age 3, rockin’ a denim hat and denim dress. Now, I didn’t dress myself at this age, so this photo is really a testament to my mom’s coolness. She had to be just plain awesome to dress me like that, right?!

Love it!

Throwback: Storytime

This week, I wanted to share one of my all time favorite photos from my childhood. In this photo, I’m reading a book to my little sister at our grandma and grandpa’s house. I’m not sure how old we are here, but I remember that day like it was yesterday. We’re best friends to this day! If we were to ever re-take a childhood photo (as is the current trend), this is the photo I’d want to use!

Throwback: My Crazy, Wonderful Grandma

This week’s throwback is dedicated to my grandma. I found this photo and just busted up laughing at my face! That is the look of pain, right there.

My grandma loves taking photos. But she can’t just take a cute, candid or unposed photo. Every photo must be posed perfectly! Which makes the back of this photo just wonderful:

Throwback: San Diego Zoo

I’ve been to California several times a year, over my entire lifetime, but I’ve only been to the San Diego Zoo once. This photo is from that trip.

The Lion King was (and dare I say, still is) my favorite movie, and Timon was, of course, the greatest character! I had a stuffed Timon doll, and begged my grandparents for a real meerkat every Christmas!

So, while most kids are excited to see the larger animals at zoos, I was crazy with anticipation at meeting these little cuties. Our zoo doesn’t have meerkats, so I thought it was just the coolest that they were at the San Diego Zoo.

And can I just point out my amazing Disney overall shorts?! Wow. This week’s throwback is filled with all sorts of awesomeness. ’90s for the win!

Throwback: Grandpa and Some Sweet Shades

This week’s throwback goes out to my amazing grandpa. The world lost this awesome man back in March of 2004. He was one of my favorite people in the whole world. The thought of my son never knowing him brings tears to my eyes. I miss him so much.

But when I see pictures like this one, I can’t help but laugh. I’m reminded of how funny and sweet and just plain silly he was! He used to do Goofy’s and Donald’s voices to make us laugh. He loved playing Super Mario. And he loved his girls more than life itself.

Throwback: Bachelorette

Roughly three years ago, I had the most amazing bachelorette party! Thinking about it today, as my anniversary grows closer. We had such a great time!
The party was planned by my sister and best friend. Because I wasn’t quite 21, we had to do something minor-friendly. So we went to the mall!
The girls put together an epic scavenger hunt that involved a ton of embarrassment and FUN! We met a bunch of very kind people willing to help us out with our lists, and I kissed a bald man’s head. No joke.
I can’t believe this photo was taken three years ago! Time sure does fly.
