31 Days of Lists – October 31

It has been quite the month! I love October and Fall, but this year has been extra special with Owen in our lives. Looking back, there are a few things I definitely don’t want to forget!

Highlights of This Month:

1. Owen sat up. I mean, he can’t quite pull himself into the sitting position, but if you sit him up, he can hold it!

2. Owen’s first Halloween. I’m posting this before we actually go trick-or-treating, but I just know it’s going to be so fun!

3. My hubby’s birthday. We got to see family, watch football, eat cake…does it get any better?

4. I went to a clothing swap! The Dress Barn in Corvallis hosts a clothing swap every year, and I finally got to go! I brought a ton of clothes in the week before, got my vouchers, and walked away with a ton of new (to me) clothes! It was such a rush! People be straight-up cray.

5. Date night. We’ve only had a couple nights away from Owen since he was born, so it was definitely a highlight! We saw Fury and went to Shari’s for milkshakes!

We had some great moments this month, but I’m really looking forward to the coming months!

What were your October highlights?

31 Days of Lists – October 30

I love being home with my handsome man, as it allows me to witness all the awesome new things that he’s learning everyday! And, although I already miss those early newborn days, I’m so looking forward to all of the milestones he has yet to hit!

Things I’m Looking Forward To:

1. Teeth! I’m just so over the whole teething thing.

2. Crawling, then walking. I know he’s going to keep me on my toes, but I’m kind of excited for Owen to be able to get where he wants to go, rather than having me carry him everywhere.

3. Owen’s first word. I hope it’s “mama!”

4. Halloween tomorrow! Our costumes are going to be so stinkin’ cute.

5. School. This may sound awful, but I just can’t wait to send Owen off to school so I can actually have a life again.

6. Christmas. It’s my favorite time of year, and now we have a kid in the house! Time to play Santa!

7. Disneyland. We’re planning a trip during Spring Break next year! I’m going to be the crazy mom, getting pictures of Owen with all the characters.

There are so many more things that I’m looking forward to, but, unfortunately, I tend to stop enjoying what I have, while anticipating what I’ll have one day. I’m trying really hard to just enjoy the moment! To live in the here and now, and to be patient. The things that I want in the future will eventually happen (like buying a house, etc.), but God is blessing me today, and I need to slow down before I miss those blessings. I want to enjoy my baby now, because, soon enough, he’ll be a grown man with his own babies.

Do you have something you’re really looking forward to? Do you, like me, tend to lose your patience in anticipation of things to come?

31 Days of Lists – October 29

Oh my gosh, I missed another day for my lists! I have been running at full steam this week, and have not been getting the rest that I need! I’m kind of neglecting my blog…I’m sorry!

But I’m here with today’s list:

Favorite Flowers:

1. Begonias

2. Orchids

3. Daisies

4. Orange and pink roses

5. Dahlias

6. Poppies

7. Water lilies

8. Sunflowers

I am such a sucker for flowers! I wish spring and summer lasted year-round, just so I could have a constant supply of color in my house! I love to pick wildflowers and put them in a jar. Such a fun and lovely way to add some rustic charm to your home!

31 Days of Lists – October 27

I totally forgot yesterday’s list. It was asking for words I hate, and I was so not into it, so we’re just missing a day! Oh well.

Today’s list is asking for stuff that I’m allergic to. But, I only have two allergies: grass and cigarette smoke. Grass causes itchiness, cigarette smoke causes an asthmatic reaction.

Awesome list.

So, instead, I’m changing the list to something totally random and fun!

My Favorite Rides at Disneyland/ California Adventure:

1. The Indiana Jones ride!

2. California Screamin’

3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

4. Grizzly River Run

5. Soarin’ Over California

6. The Haunted Mansion

7. Star Tours

8. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

9. Pirates of the Caribbean

10. Radiator Springs Racers

11. Jungle Cruise

And, though not technically rides, I love all the shows! My favorites are Turtle Time With Crush, The Enchanted Tiki Room, and It’s Tough to Be a Bug!

If you’ve been to Disneyland, what were your favorites? I left off a few great ones like Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror, because the scare me half to death! But are those on your list?

31 Days of Lists – October 25

I am an extremely picky eater. Not proud of it, but it’s just who I am. One of the reasons that I am so picky is that I’m a texture-eater. Even if something has a nice taste, I won’t eat it if it’s got a strange texture. You know, slimy food…gritty food….just can’t do it!

I also have this weird thing about fruit. I do love fruit, but I seriously can’t stand it once it’s been cooked, baked, or altered in any way. So although pineapple is my all time fave, it does not belong on pizza!

Let me tell you all about this strangeness with today’s list:

Foods That I Dislike:

1. Pie/cobbler.

2. Cheese. Except Parmesan and mozzarella…those are okay.

3. Beans of any variety. They just feel odd when you squish them in your teeth.

4. Watermelon. Also feels really odd.

5. Most spicy foods. I just don’t particularly like for my mouth to be on fire.

6. White milk, but I flippin’ LOVE chocolate milk! I’m like a six-year-old when it comes to my chocolate milk! Nesquick is a staple in our kitchen.

7. Lasagna. Too messy.

8. Tomatoes. My dad actually calls tomatoes vile weeds!

There’s so much more, I’m sure, but I just can’t list it all. It really is embarrassing. I can’t tell you how many times people have teased me because I don’t like pie or watermelon. They think I’m weird. But, oh well! I guess I’m just weird.

What foods do you hate? Am I alone on a lot of these?

31 Days of Lists – October 24

I don’t really “get” today’s list…it’s asking for my favorite patterns…like, chevron? Houndstooth? I can honestly say that I just don’t have a favorite. Call me strange.

So, in the spirit of Halloween, I’m going to list my favorite candy!!! Warning: I have one heck of a sweet tooth.

Favorite Candy:

1. Hot Tamales

2. Jr. Mints

3. Riesens!!!

4. Reece’s (I go crazy for the eggs they do at Easter…they’re huge)

5. Sour rope

6. Pretty much anything chocolate, cinnamon, peanut butter or sour!

I’m super excited to take Owen trick-or-treating this year! In my opinion, as long as I’m putting work/money into the costume, I deserve a cut of the candy…and since Owen isn’t even eating the good stuff yet, it appears that I’ll be hitting the mother load this year!

Do you moms take a share of your kids’ candy? Is there a certain candy you’re hoping to see in their trick-or-treating bags?

31 Days of Lists – October 23

I have some overlaps with today’s list and my list a few days ago, with people I’d like to trade lives with, but what can ya do?!

People I Want to Meet:

1. The Backstreet Boys

2. The Hemsworth boys (swoon!)

3. Oprah

4. Adam Lambert (we could be BFFs!)

5. Jennifer Lawrence (my other BFF)

6. Jared Padaleki and Jensen Ackles of “Supernatural.” I. Would. Die.

There’s more. I’d turn into a raving lunatic if I ever met any celebrity (I actually did meet NSYNC before they became wildly popular…I’ll have to dig up a photo), but these are some of my favorites!

Anybody that you’d love to meet? Or, maybe the better question is, who would you totally “fan-girl” over?
